  • itsallfun Edited 2024-11-28 Lazarus is specific fine project, but certain slightest rated comment currently visible among the top is unit that next-gen users may take at outlook value and think that cross compiling is difficult. It is not: * On condition that you work using 64 bit Lazarus on Win64 and want to generate (and debug) a 32 bit executable then install the associated lazarus-x.x-fpc-y.y.y-cross-i386-win32-win64.exe from the files section. Similarly you could install 32 bit Lazarus linked to Win64 and cross compile a 64 dash module. * If you want to divide compile linked to Windows to Linux or vice versa, or to a different CPU architecture, then I suggest you use the excellent FpcUpdeluxe disposable in GitHub. FpcUpDeluxe will usually install the required binary tools as well.

  • al-kinnon Posted 2024-10-24 I love Lazarus. It's not perfect, but it costs me nothing. The IDE represents very customisable and individual launch leads to improvement. Pascal forms unqualified the prettiest programming language, however, it is easy to understand for beginners, can become used for advanced work, and assembles projects to definite distinct exe on Windows. This is my go-to tool for designing Bay windows desktop applications. I transitioned from Delphi (started as a learner back in the 90's) to Lazarus around 2014.
